Thank You CCRR! The Cross Town Trail is Clean. May 16th, 2010
Many thanks to the team of over 30 CCRR members who cleaned up the Cross Town Trail on Saturday. Over 40 bags of garbage were collected from the trails and adjacent wooded areas.
The annual trail cleanup is part of the Fredericton Trails Coalition Adopt-a-Trail program. CCRR is now responsible for the annual cleanup of the Cross Town Trail. The trail section starts at the Thai Shelter at the corner of Beaverbrook and University, then runs west across McLeod, across Regent, through Sobeys property, through the Old Train Station property, across York, through Rabbit Town Park (Argyle and Northumberland), to Smythe. There are two new signs indicating that the trail is maintained by the Capital City Road Runners.
A special thanks to Liz Lautard whose idea and leadership resulted in the adoption of this trail in late 2009. It's a great section of trail right in our backyard, and we're proud to have it.
